Living in Hampton

Welcome to Hampton

Hampton is one of America’s oldest cities, with a relaxed waterfront pace I really enjoy. Between the bay beaches, the historic districts and the downtown waterfront, there’s a lot to love on this side of the water.

Neighborhoods to know
  • Phoebus

A small, historic neighborhood with local shops near Fort Monroe.

  • Buckroe Beach

A beach community on the Chesapeake Bay.

  • Fox Hill

A waterfront area with a quieter, coastal feel.

  • Downtown Hampton

Waterfront living along the Hampton River.

  • Wythe

Established neighborhoods with older homes near the water.

Every neighborhood has its own feel; I’m happy to help you compare them in person.

Lifestyle & commute

Getting around

I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel connect Hampton to Norfolk and the Southside, and I-664 links you to the Monitor-Merrimac crossing. It’s home to the Langley side of Joint Base Langley-Eustis, and Fort Monroe National Monument is a beautiful spot for weekends.

Commute times vary a lot with traffic, tunnels and time of day. I’m always glad to drive the route with you.

Schools

A note on schools

Hampton is served by Hampton City Schools. School assignments are set by address and can change, so please verify zoning for any specific home directly with the school division before you buy.
