Living in Virginia Beach

Welcome to Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach is home base for me. It’s miles of beach and bay, quiet cul-de-sacs and lively Town Center blocks, all in one city. Whether you want salt air every morning or a big yard near good shopping, there’s a pocket of Virginia Beach that fits.

Neighborhoods to know
  • The Oceanfront & North End

Boardwalk energy to the south, quieter residential streets to the north.

  • Sandbridge

A laid-back beach community on the southern shore.

  • Great Neck & Shore Drive

Waterfront and wooded neighborhoods near the Lynnhaven River and the Chesapeake Bay.

  • Town Center

Walkable dining, shopping and newer residences in the heart of the city.

  • Kempsville

Established neighborhoods with a central location.

  • Red Mill & Princess Anne

Popular suburban neighborhoods toward the southern end of the city.

Every neighborhood has its own feel; I’m happy to help you compare them in person.

Lifestyle & commute

Getting around

Daily life here runs on I-264, I-64 and Virginia Beach Boulevard, with beaches and the bay never far away. For military families, NAS Oceana, Dam Neck Annex and Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek–Fort Story are all in the city, and Naval Station Norfolk is a reasonable commute depending on where you land.

Commute times vary a lot with traffic, tunnels and time of day. I’m always glad to drive the route with you.

Schools

A note on schools

Virginia Beach is served by Virginia Beach City Public Schools. School assignments are set by address and can change, so please verify zoning for any specific home directly with the school division before you buy.
