Living in Norfolk

Welcome to Norfolk

Norfolk has character on every block: historic homes, a real downtown, and water in almost every direction. I love showing clients how different one Norfolk neighborhood can feel from the next.

Neighborhoods to know
  • Ghent

Tree-lined streets, historic homes and a busy dining and shopping scene.

  • Larchmont & Edgewater

Established neighborhoods along the Lafayette and Elizabeth rivers near Old Dominion University.

  • Colonial Place & Riverview

Classic early-20th-century homes close to the Lafayette River.

  • Ocean View & East Beach

Bay-front living on the Chesapeake Bay shoreline.

  • Downtown & Freemason

Historic streets, condos and city living by the waterfront.

  • Wards Corner

A central crossroads with established surrounding neighborhoods.

Every neighborhood has its own feel; I’m happy to help you compare them in person.

Lifestyle & commute

Getting around

Norfolk is the region’s urban core, with I-64, I-264 and the tunnels connecting you to the rest of Hampton Roads. It’s home to Naval Station Norfolk, the world’s largest naval base, and Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, so many of my military clients look here first for a short commute.

Commute times vary a lot with traffic, tunnels and time of day. I’m always glad to drive the route with you.

Schools

A note on schools

Norfolk is served by Norfolk Public Schools. School assignments are set by address and can change, so please verify zoning for any specific home directly with the school division before you buy.
